Harold "Harry" Osborn is son of Norman Osborn. He is best friends with Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson. In the beginning of the series, Harry remains unaware his father's nefarious dealings with Doctor Octopus and Peter's identity as Spider-Man. Norman's and Peter's respective secrets put a strain on their relationship with Harry, and Harry unwittingly becomes entangled in various dangerous situations resulting from their clashes over time. After Harry encountered a sample of the Venom symbiote, he becomes its first host and uses it to become a superhero in order to impress his father, being referred to as the "Black Suit Spider-Man" by the media. Eventually, Harry succumbs to its influence and becomes "Venom" before being saved by Spider-Man.

When Doctor Octopus sends the Vulture to assassinate Norman, Harry discovers his father's collection of highly-advanced armors and dons the Patrioteer armor to fight against Vulture, dubbing himself the "Patrioteer". Realizing that he is capable of operating the armor and respecting his son's wish to be treated as an adult, Norman reluctantly allows Harry to keep the armor and attend S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy to learn how to become a superhero. Shortly afterwards, however, Harry is forced to become "Anti-Venom", when Doctor Octopus sends the symbiote to use him as its host and falls into a coma once it was incapacitated. After reawakening and utilizing the Anti-Venom symbiote to destroy the Carnage symbiote, Harry resumes being the Patrioteer and rejoins S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy as a proper student.
